Gamera 1965 from Giant Monster Gamera craved heat and would destroy obstacles in his way to get it. A modifyed version of this film was shown in the United States as "Invincible Monster Gamera". This version is not only dubbed in English but also features new scenes not shown in the Japanese original. The English dubbed films mispronounce the creatures name as ga-mer-a rather gam-ih-ra. Gamera's first film was b/w.

Gamera vs Barugon

In Great Monster Duel: Gamera vs. Barugon (1966) Gamera takes on the evil monster Barugon and becomes "the friend of all children". He's still not fond of adult humans. Barugon was the oppostie of Gamera, spraying freezing gas. This film was released in the United States as "War of the Monsters". It's also known as "Revenge of the Fire Monster". Gamera's second film was the his first to be in color.

Gamera vs. Gyaos

In Gamera vs. Gyaos (1967) gamera takes on the bat winged Gyaos.

Gamera vs. Viras

In Gamera vs. Outer Space Monster Viras (1968) Earth is invaded by Viras, the space squid. This film was released in the United States as "Gamera vs Viras".

Gamera vs. Giron

In Gamera vs. Guiron (1969) Gamera faces the viscious Guiron. This film was released in the United States as "Gamera vs. Gullion".

Gamera vs. Jiger

In Gamera vs. Jiger (1970) an ancient evil is awakend and its up to Gamera to put it back to sleep. This film was shown in the United States as "Gamera vs. Monster X".

Gamera vs. Zigra

In Gamera vs. the Deep Sea Monster Zigra (1971) the giant space shark Zigra plots to conquer Earth. This film was shown in the United States as "Gamera vs. Zigra".

In Space Monster Gamera (1980) Gamera battles all of his past enemies. Daiei Studios went bankrupt after making this film.



Gamera vs. Gyaos

In 1995 the newly formed Daiei Motion Picture Co. Ltd restarts the Gamera legend with Gamera: Giant Monster Midair Showdown, which like the 80s Gojira films pretends that the events in the earlier films never took place. The new Gamera battles 3 new Gyaos. The new Gamera instead of having fire breath spits plasma balls. This film was relesed in the United States as "Gamera Guardian of the Universe".

Gamera vs. Legion

Gamera 2: The Advent of Legion (1996) pits Gamera against a monster so powerful that he's forced to develope a new power: Magma Blast, in order to defeat it. This film was relesed in the United States as "Gamera 2: Attack of Legion".

Iris

In Gamera 3: The Awakening of Iris (1999) Gamera fights Irish a monster controled by a woman who hates Gamera . This film was relesed in the United States as "Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris".

In Gamera: The Brave (2006) Gamera starts out as a baby monster. Apparently this film is more like the films of the 1960s and 1970s then the 1990s films.
