Waruda
episodes 37-45
In episode #37 Big Shadow hired Waruda, a robot Samurai to destroy
Kikaida 01. Waruda's sense of honor would not allow him to harm
children, in fact he would rescue them. "waru(i)" is Japanese for
"bad", "evil" or "sinful". Who created Waruda is a mystery. Waruda's
special combat technique is "Waruda Slash".
Waruda played a small flute.
Waruda's weakness: Cynophobia -- unreasonable fear of dogs. He
explains, to Bijinda, that dogs recognise the difference between good
and evil, barking at theives for example, and because he cannot he's
embarassed and frightened by dogs.
Waruda had a crush on Bijinda but she could not return his feelings as
long as he insisted on trying to destroy 01.
Waruda's motorcycle, Waruda Machine, could do up to 400 km/h (approx.
248 miles per hour) and could ride on water.
Waruda has an instrumental theme song
"Lifetime Of The Great Swordsman Waruda".
